This week Justin “The Head Craicer” Byrne takes exception to Andy Ihnatko’s Jersey Shore/Apple remark as the main Cupertino crew seem share some common traits (though I don’t believe that they are sleeping with one another (Dave “Snookie” Shortle)
).

iPod Touch, iOS4 & the magical disappearing battery life – The boys discuss the curious case of the magical disappearing battery life on Justin’s 3G iPod Touch which we could summarise as blame fast app switching or the Mail.app
Apple TV becoming iTV, getting application support, yet losing full HD? I give my thoughts on whether this “iTV” can handle 1080P, but with an A4 chip
it should be more than capable just like this.

The boys are joined this week by Allison Sheridan (aka Podfeet/classy California chick), who was the inspiration for MacCraic starting out (she’d disavow all responsibility for that now though I’d bet
). Somehow the boys ended up on Nosillacast’s Ustream live (that’s playing with fire
) with thanks to Steve P Sheridan (the man behind the woman). Does she survive till the end of the show ? Tune in if you dare.

This week, our heroes go back to the script but then decide to throw caution to the wind & go for a no holds barred episode that will end up with an explicit tag or could possibly get us in trouble with the Asian community judging by this weeks title.

This week Dave has some trouble with his Windows PC while Justin has a small audio hiccup mid podcast (sorry for the bad audio about half way through. I don’t know what caused it.). Our duo have a look at the latest update to Leopard, discuss where hardware could be going and somewhat of a mix up with Steve’s house.
Intro
RIP Joe Gantly (former MD Apple Europe)
Before we get into the news we would like to extend our depest sympathies to the family of Joe Gantly former MD of Apple Europe who died suddenly at his home in Cork. Joe was with Apple from 1990 to 2004 and oversaw the transition of the Cork plant from that of manufacturing to a world class operations centre.

Sorry folks, I made a bit of a boo-boo with the file for the podcast. I broke the cardinal law of not checking something after you make a change.
I had uploaded the file and checked to see it was working. Then I went back in and enabled stats on the podPress plugin and happily headed out for the day. I was at a friends birthday party in The Church Bar on Mary Street last night and didn’t get in until 3:30am this morning. I brought MacCraic.com up on my iPod Touch (why I don’t know call it cosmic intervention) and discovered that the feed was broken. I was too tired to even think about why so I left it until this morning.
Everything seemed ok but I checked the super notes on the podPress wiki. Fantastic help in there, especially for a noob (or should I say knob lol) like me. It turns out that the enabling the stats feature can cause some feeds to break on some servers. I guess mine is one of them. Not really important as I can use Libsyn’s stats anyway. So I turned it off and hey presto feed is back working.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. And a big thanks to shaznyc for contacting me and letting me know it was down. I really appreciate that. Beers are on me the next time I’m in the Big Apple.
On a side note we are hoping to do a quick show on Tuesday after the Keynote. Here’s hoping there will be loads of new shiny things to talk about.
Take care all.
Justin
