Have just finished reading 2 articles that caught my attention here from Techradar who interview former Apple CEO John Sculley about Newton being 15 years too early and here from the Apple Blog who relate the eMate 300 to being the first netbook.
Both articles are a good read but John Sculley’s particular comment about keyboards on iPhone make me glad that Steve Jobs is in charge at Apple & not him.
As regards eMate, the similarity between it & the current netbook craze is something I’ve noticed myself but both it & NewtonOS were ahead of the curve becoming solutions looking for problems or needs that no one knew they had at time.
Wondering now if Apple will release a 6″ touchscreen tablet running iPhone OS for $/€699 at Macworld to address this netbook demand in Apple’s unique way.
