At last, Apple sends out invite for media event Oct 14th- Here come the notebooks

The Mac Observer has posted that Apple has begun to send out invitations to a media event to be held at Apple’s Campus in Cupertino next Tuesday Oct 14th as predicted by Daring Fireball’s John Gruber (link).

The invite titled “The spotlight turns to notebooks” will see the introduction of redesigned Macbooks & Macbook Pros for which a number of spy pics have leaked on to the internet both yesterday & today (see previous post).

This event is taking place one week prior to Apple’s earnings announcement for quarter ended Sept 30th.

I believe that Apple will set down a marker with next week’s event with the introduction of innovative new notebooks. They may also include the glass display trackpads that have been spoken about by Roughly Drafted Magazine previously & with the current article may dispel some of the speculation surrounding the “brick” process (link).

On a personal note, I’ve waited long enough to upgrade from my PB G4 Titanium (great workhorse that it is) so I will be looking intently at the new Macbook Pro as soon as Apple make it available.

Update: Engadget has posted article via PC Perspective with further evidence that Nvidia will be providing the GPU’s ( graphical oopmh !) for the new Macbooks & Macbook Pro’s. See following link.
