Mobile Me Mail Misery

About 3 months after I switched to the Mac platform in 2006 I decided to take .mac for a test-drive.   I had heard lots of negative comments about the service but decided that it was probably worth making up my own mind about, after all you do get a free 60 day trial.   Well before the 60 days were out I handed over my cash and bought myself a year of .mac, of which I am still a proud member today, although these days it is called mobile me (lame name).   To this day I have had no problems or down time with the service (the whole fiasco with the changeover to mobile me aside).

Today I have become one of the numbers.  For the last 4 hours I have had no access to my mobile me mail (my main e-mail account now).   A nice little message appears saying that the mail service is currently unavailable and to check the status in the mobile me support pages.   Click the link and be taken to the support pages just to find that they have the status of all mobile me services as normal.

Come on Apple at least put some form of comment for your customers of how long you expect the service to be unavailable for.   We get less frustrated if there is a little bit of communication.   I have found in my dealings with people over the years that even if the news is not great they are less annoyed if you tell them instead of leaving them in the dark.

Oh and by the way all other services are up and running.   It is just the mail that is down.   Hope it gets fixed soon.   Surely I have at least one new message in the last 4 hours. :-)

I guess first time down for me in nearly two years of using it is a good record.

Can understand your frustration, but remember, Apple nearly always quickly fix any problems when they arise.

    Keep the faith mate.
